Last week they were upgrading their email service and ran into difficulties leaving their customers with very limited access to email for a week. DCM Job Announcement

Lakeside Bible Camp Association is seeking qualified applicants for Director of Camp Ministries. The DCM is expected to further the mission of the camp through the planning and delivery of the spiritual ministries, programs, activities and events.

A major portion of responsibility is the securing and equipping the volunteer ministry program directors. Impactful programs may include, summer resident camp, family camps, weekend retreats, and our TCL (Training in Christian Living) discipleship program.

Ensures the safety and welfare of all campers, coordinates promotion and recruitment efforts, and collaborates with parents and camp registrar. Occasionally hosts group retreats. The DCM serves as a team member with other core ministry staff members. This is a management position that requires extensive planning, organization, communication and networking skills.

DCM Resignation Announcement

Kevin Rasmussen has announced that he is resigning his post as Director of Camp Ministries and the board has accepted. Through much prayer and counsel from close friends, Kevin and his family believe the Lord is leading them to a new ministry or place of employment.

We are encouraged to know their sense of calling and will be working with Kevin to ensure that the needs of Lakeside Bible Camp are met upon an anticipated move in mid June 2012, after his children finish school. As a ministry, we are thankful for the work he has done to ensure that solid Bible teaching and exciting program activities are offered to the campers we serve. His big smile, engaging personality and resourceful methods will be missed.

Boy’s Weekend Postponed Until March 2-4

Due to adverse weather conditions we are postponing the boys weekend until March 2-4. Driving conditions are not good and most events for today – schools, concerts, etc – on the island have been cancelled. In the interest of safety we think it is best to move the camp to another weekend.

Again, the new date is Friday, March 2 through Sunday, March 4. Take a look at your calendar and see if that weekend works for you. Let us know if you are able to make it or would prefer a refund or have the balance applied to summer camp. You don’t need to make a decision right now & can email our office with what works best for you.

2011 Appreciation Desserts

Hello friends of Lakeside Bible Camp!

Please join us at one of the Appreciation Desserts this September. We will have one at Des Moines Gospel Chapel on Saturday, September 10 at 6pm for our friends in southern Seattle and another at Northgate Gospel Chapel on Saturday, September 24. Both events start at 6pm and will have a few speakers giving highlights of the summer plus lots of photos & memories of the year & tasty desserts.

Everyone is welcome - friends, campers, TCL (2011 and prior), cabin leaders, directors, speakers, everyone! Bring some friends to introduce them to LBC. See you then!
