50th Celebration- Final Update
How many are coming, you ask? The last number I heard was 740! The weather forecast is great – 73 and sunny, perfect weather for a huge picnic. A reminder that the open house starts at 1pm and the dinner & program start at 5.
With so many coming to camp I have a few favors to ask:
· Please follow the instructions about parking offsite. We can handle about 50 cars total here at camp and we are saving them for those who are less mobile. If you drop people off here at camp don’t just take a spot in the lot if you see one as people might come later who need it. It is also critical that we keep a lane open for emergency vehicles.
· The bathrooms in all the cabins will be open for use. Cabins 5, 6 & 7 will be reserved for the ladies and cabins 2, 3 & 4 will be reserved for the men. You might want to head up to a cabin to use a bathroom since the main bathrooms will not be able to handle the crowd. We will also have some porta-potties down by the waterfront.
· Please lend a hand if you are able to. We can use help setting up tables & chairs during the open house time and could really use help in putting everything away after the program is over!
· We might not be able to run the boat if there are already too many boats on the lake.
· We think we have everything covered but please be patient as we serve so many on Saturday. Junior TCL 2 and TCL 2 will be doing most of the work and your encouraging words to them will be greatly appreciated.
· As you know we are not charging for the event. We ask that you help cover the costs for the event with a donation. We will have several places available to make donations to LBC and you can also designate where you would like your gift to go to. Suggestions include the Luke’s Wall fund, Scholarship fund, College Assistance Program fund, the general operating fund plus any specific need you think the camp might have.
· Finally, please be in prayer that the Lord would be glorified as we look back on the past and look forward to the future of the ministry. It will be a great day of fellowship, fun and food and I hope that you will be blessed!
