Prayer Warrior #7 - Jr. High Camp

If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear” - Mark 4:23

Every week at LBC, there is a concerted effort to sow the message of the gospel upon the lives of those God brings down the path to check-in. On Sunday we welcomed almost 100 Jr. High teens. It is extremely encouraging to see them fully engaged during chapel times with the worship music and the messages. Please pray that the chapel times would effectively turn their hearts to the LORD.

It is also evident that they bring many common tensions we see at this camp every year (screen addictions, social anxiety, depression, anger, awkwardness, insecurities). Some hear the message, and they have already decided that they are just here for games and the team sports; the message lands and it never has a chance to take root. Others appear responsive, but they immediately turn back to worldly behavior when they head home. Others become overwelmed with their anxiety, depression, and anger. They are affected by every worry that comes from the world.

We know that Jesus told us that there would be many who do not truly receive the Word, but there will be some who hear it with open hearts. We know that for these campers, God’s Word will produce abundant fruit for generations to come. We anticipate a challenging week as we work with these young teenagers, but. many are here serving faithfully because so many can quickly multiply the growth of the Kingdom of God. Please pray that this week has spiritual fruit that abounds thirty, sixty, and a hundred times more than we expected.

Are you looking to serve at LBC again this summer? We anticipate a very large camp during Family Camp II. For the little kids younger than 4 we anticipate around 25 campers. If you would like to come for the week and provide extra help with the Summer Staff, please email Daniel Jensen (dcm@lakesidebiblecamp.org)

Prayer

  • Pray for one camper who told his cabin leader that he is just here for the “fun”. Pray that the Spirit shakes him from his position and causes him to turn to the Savior.

  • Pray that the chapel times would be the highlight of the week for these campers.

  • Pray for cabin leaders to have wisdom to deal with difficult responses during cabin discussions and 1-1s.

  • Pray that many teens would come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

  • Pray that our Speaker Nathaniel Buss would have some wonderful conversation with the Jr. Highers.

  • This is a week that bees and hornets can come out. We have not seen many this year. Pray that this trend continues for our guests through the rest of the Summer.

  • Pray for a boring week for our nurses. We like it when campers stay healthy and they don’t have injuries while here at camp. Pray for camper safety.

  • Pray that the Staff and TCL would be unified in their service. Pray these service teams would bond together and form lifelong relationships.
