Prayer Warrior #7 - Boys Camp II

Pray for Boys Camp

We’ve reached the midpoint of Boys Camp II. Today’s schedule includes man skills. The cabin leaders are teaching these boys how to change a tire, how to rescue someone in the water, how to fix a broken toilet, how to give someone a handshake. What have I enjoyed watching this week? I’ve enjoyed seeing the cabin leaders bring and utilize their unique interests. One of the cabin leaders loves to mountain bike, and he connects with the kids at the bike track. One enjoys music and he connects with them using instruments. Another enjoys drawing. Another disc golf. I’m grateful for the variety of interests God instills in His people.

Today our speaker, Kevin Crain, talked to the boys about looking for opportunities to serve and share our faith. He talked to the boys about how God uses us with the skills and abilities he’s bestowed upon us. Sometimes it’s as simple as helping someone carry their groceries. Yet one thing we can all do is pray. He told the story of a rough, burly neighbor who injured himself on a house project. Kevin went over and offered to pray for him. The next day his neighbor asked if he could also pray for his wife who was sick. When we look for opportunities to serve, God may use that to open the next door. Pray for campers who are still wondering about trusting Jesus. Pray also for those who know Jesus, but need to put their faith into action. I’m thankful for the examples set by these cabin leaders. Pray that God would inspire these boys to grow up to walk in the fear and knowledge of the Lord.

Pray for SUMMER CreW

Pete & Charlene Santucci came this summer to serve as directors of the Summer Crew. They could only stay through the middle of this week. Next weekend Scott Miller is coming in to continue leading the Crew. Please pray that God would bless the staff with continued attitudes that serve with unity and excellence. We are also still in need of another lifeguard to serve during Family Camp II. Please pray that God would provide another person to come help us watch the waterfront.

PRAY FOR TCL

This week we transitioned into our last session of TCL. Jeremy & April Pryor are leading this session. We still had 2 spots available for guys heading into last Thursday. God provided two more guys on Friday. I’m grateful for a full session of TCL. Though we are short one guy cabin leader, Kobi Parshall seems to be a solid leader. He came through the recruitment of Jeremy & April and got to know them after serving with YWAM a couple years ago. Please pray that the TCL continue to grow into the heart of service and that they all grow in their love of God.
